A great storm for NM and CO areas. And it's not over yet! Three options to make some early season turns right now with Santa Fe, Taos and Wolf Creek open now. Red River, Sipapu and Durango Mountain all reopen on Friday. Check out all the details below.
Sandia Peak: 3 New. 3 Storm. 3 New This Week. 12 Inch Base. Scheduled opening date is Saturday, Dec. 21.
Santa Fe: 5 New. 5 Storm. 5 New This Week. 32 Inch Base. 5/7 Lifts. 71/77 Trails Open (90% of the mountain open). Normal lift ticket rates are $69 for adult tickets.
Taos Ski Valley: 1 New. 1 Strom. 1 New This Week. 31 Inch Base. 5/14 Lifts (1, 2, 3, the Reuggli and one carpet). 47/113 Trails Open (includes 8 backside runs). Open Thursday through Sunday with at least the front and backside of the mountain are open with with skiing around the world, and the lower front steeps will open on a rotating basis throughout the day. Adult Lift Tickets are $55 through Dec. 19, with discounts available on lessons, rentals, and lodging as well. (Normal adult ticket prices this season are $77). Daily operations begin on Dec. 19.
Angel Fire: NR New. 0 Storm. 0 New This Week. 16 Inch Base. Opening date scheduled for Friday, Dec. 13.
Pajarito: NR New. 0 Storm. 0 New This Week. Need about 10 more inches of snow to open the mountain. Snowmaking underway. Scheduled opening date is Saturday, Dec. 7, but could move out if natural snow doesn't arrive this week.
Red River: NR New. 0 Storm. 0 New This Week. 24 Inch Base. 0/7 Lifts Open. 0/57 Trails Open. The Pot O Gold terrain park is open. Will re-open this Friday through Sunday.
Sipapu: 7 New. 7 storm. 7 New This Week. 24 Inch Base. 0/5 Lifts. 0/41 Trails Open. Will start daily operations this Friday, Dec. 6. Sipapu's newest lift, the magic carpet, will be open everyday beginning this Friday. Lift tickets are $20 for adults (ages 21-59) and $15 for everyone else. Kids 6 and younger, 4th and 5th graders (report card required), and guests who are ages 40, 60, or 70 years old and older receive a free lift ticket everyday. Active duty military ski free nearly everyday, too. Learn 2 Ski and Snowboard Camps are available select dates this winter at Sipapu: first time skiers and snowboarders can get 2 days of ski school lessons, beginner lift tickets and rentals plus a night of slopeside lodging for just $49. Enchanted Forest XC: 1 New. 1 Storm. 20 Inch Base. 33/33 Trails Open. Now open for the season.
Valles Caldera National Preserve: Opening date TBD.
Ski Apache: NR New. 0 Storm. 0 New This Week. 11 Inch Base. Lift 3 and 5 are open with the trails: Bunny , Easy Street, East Easy Street.
Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory): NR New. 13 Storm. 13 New This Week. 42 Base. Will start daily operations this Friday with at least top to-bottom skiing and riding on the frontside, with Lift 1 and Lift 2 operating and the Pitchfork Terrain Park open. All frontside terrain expected to be open, with the exception of Ambassadors’ Glade. That's 32 total trails. Discounted lift tickets are available Friday through Sunday. Prices are $55 adults; $43 young adults (13-17 yrs); $47 seniors (65-79); $33 kids (6-12 yrs); and $21 super seniors (80+). Purgatory season passes, including weekday passes will be honored Friday through Sunday for the next two weeks.
Wolf Creek: 11 New. 23 Storm. 70 Inch Base. 6/7 Lifts Running. 77/77 Trails Open (100% open). Even tho there is plenty of snow, still watch for early season obstacles. Lift tickets are $58 for adults and $31 for seniors and children. College Day is coming up on Sunday where tickets are $38 for college students with a valid photo current ID. Wolf Creek Pass is open, but the West side of Wolf Creek Pass will experience delays beginning at 7am Thursday, December 5, while CDOT conducts avalanche control. The East side of the pass to the ski area will not be affected.
Silverton Mountain: Opening date Dec. 21.
Telluride Resort: 8 New. 16 Storm. 16 New This Week. 44 Inch Base. 8/18 Lifts Running. 25/93 Trails Open.
