Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman, Chris Cornell, has passed away at age 52 only hours after his show in Detroit.

Police are now speculating his death could be a possible suicide. Reports are coming in saying his wife called a family friend to check on Chris. The friend had to force open Cornell's hotel door, reportedly found Chris unresponsive in the bathroom with something around his neck.  

The Wayne County Medical Examiner's office will make an official determination about the cause of death.

Brian Bumbery, his representative, has said that his passing is "sudden and unexpected".

Bumbery went on to say, "His wife Vicky and family were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing, and they will be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause," the statement read. "They would like to thank his fans for their continuous love and loyalty and ask that their privacy be respected at this time.
